So we recently got a Vive, and after a ton of setup we finally got it working. Our computer has to be in a different room than the VR room, so our frustrations initially came in the form of getting it work using 50ft cables. Had to get quality cords for it, cheaper cords that length just couldn't handle it.
Anyway, that's a bit of backstory but I honestly don't think that has anything to do with my problems at this point. Like I said we got it working and it was fine for a few days (and glorious, I honestly could never have fathomed how awesome this really is).
So today I added a bunch of Mods to Skyrim VR and briefly tested them out. It all worked and I had no issues. I turned off Skyrim VR and attempted to load up The Lab. I was met with a black screen, and I have been ever since. I have no idea what changed. All my cords are properly connected (including unplugging and replugging), and everything seems like it should be on and functional. The Vive headset even shows a green light on it, but it won't display anything.
I tried the typical trouble shooting things I found online like turning off Direct Mode, resetting the drivers, restarting my computer, checking my video card drivers - nothing. I'm using an AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 and the drivers have not changed since before I even installed VR. This is Windows 7 as well.
Any idea what's going on here?
Edit: So it was not my HDMI cord. I mean, maybe there is an issue with it since it won't post video from my PC to a TV, but a brand new HDMI cord has the exact same problem (and it does post video from my PC to a TV). I reached out to official Steam VR support and tried a few things and they suspect a defective/faulty headset. I'm shipping it off to them to test/repair it.
