Trying to figure out an issue. I just picked up a Vive Pro HMD to replace my failing Vive HMD (greying out often, tried most common fixes).
I tried to play Skyrim for 20-30 mins and the HMD got uncomfortably hot, centered around the top middle of the HMD. I had heard that the Pro runs a bit hotter than the OG Vive, but didn't expect so much.
I spoke to a couple of people who own a Vive Pro. Neither seemed to think it got that hot. That said, I ran into this review;
//The Vive Pro is more comfortable, but things get pretty hot inside after 30 minutes or so. Nothing breaks immersion more than the need to de-mask just to cool down. // - Wired
As such, I'm wondering whether it's a (potentially common) fault or normal. I had to take off the HMD to cool down too and I'm used to 4-hour sessions with the OG Vive without DAS so it's not a comfort thing.
