Overall, absolutely amazing and completely worth the money. 3D, room scale, positional tracking all can't really be explained--they have to be experienced.
I was surprised at how "unclean" the optics felt though, and thought I would help temper expectations for those in a similar boat. Having never tried another VR device before:
SDE is very noticeable. Maybe it's diminished from dev kits, but it's definitely there and gives things a low res feel.
The haloing is also very real and can be somewhat distracting, especially on dark backgrounds with white text, logos, etc.
The only way to see something completely "in focus" is to center it, everything off center, even barely in the periphery, becomes smudgy and blurred.
I think I have all my settings adjusted correctly--hopefully I'll realize some of this is my fault and find a way to tweak for the better.
All of that said, absolutely worth the money, IMO. Truly amazing. Once the size and weight of headsets come down, and the optics see significant improvement, VR will truly be world changing!
