Can't get rid of the red light (error 208)

So frustrating. I'm 100% sure all the cables are plugged in correctly, I've swapped USB ports out a few times, I updated my video drivers. Anyone else run into this problem?
The only thing I can think of is when I go to 'My Rig' and select VR, it says I'm not ready because I have a gtx 780. That wouldn't actually block my headset from working though, would it? I'm at my wits end!
