HTC Vive front camera issue

I have an original Vive that I bought used a while ago and everything has been fine so far.
However, the camera has never seemed to work. I’ve only tried it recently and I’ve only ever had ‘Could not connect’ error messages.
I have tried looking online for solutions. Making sure everything is up to date and adjusting the frame rate and restarting just in case and I’ve never gotten it to work.
Any ideas or suggestions.?
