Cash or card?

I am visiting Tenerife for a week in March Ona. Solo trip and I am wondering if I would be best to bring my spending money as cash or to keep it all on my card. I recently got back from visiting Amsterdam where I only took cash as spending money, how ever this had quite a negative affect as mostly everywhere I went only accepted card. So I was very limited on my trip and I do not want this to happen when visiting Tenerife
