In my city (like many others) restaurants are shut down .. except delivery and take out.
A lot of people in my town are using these resources and it seems crazy to me since we already have community spread.
I honestly don't know if people are making bad decisions or if I'M the asshole being upset by it.
Missouri has 255 cases and 5 deaths.
My county (Boone county) has 22 cases and 1 death. I'm in Columbia, which is the 4th largest city in the state with 130k people.
I figure if thats how many cases we know about (confirmed) there is probably 10x or 100x the number of carriers. Especially given the up-to-14 day incubation period and how half the people infected may show no symtoms. So we may have 200 - 2000 cases which translates to .15% to 1.5% of people with the virus. And if ten people are involved in the preparation, production, delivery etc, that's like a 10% chance of getting the virus with each food delivery.
So the question is - at what point in a given community should people stop ordering food delivery and stick to the stockpiles of food they already got 2 weeks ago ... how many cases or what % of genpop..
