--- first day ---- Hey, surprising to find myself making this post, but here's a success story. I decided to share because I've had a tough time in social situations, and dating apps haven't been much better. So, I mustered up some courage and made a post on Reddit. Initially, I didn't expect any replies, but to my surprise, some people did respond. We chatted with a few, but one person stood out. We had engaging conversations and exchanged photos. Over time, the discussions turned a bit more daring. Eventually, we both felt a strong connection and decided to meet. She's 28, German, and I'm 33, Dutch. We set a goal to meet at a Christmas market in Germany for a weekend, planning to spend two nights together. There was a bit of back and forth, mostly because we were both a bit shy, struggling to decide on a hotel. But eventually, the plans were set. After more weeks of chatting, the weekend finally arrived. I embarked on a long 7-hour train journey to Germany, excited and nervous at the same time. When I arrived, of course, it had to be at the wrong station (typical!), but luckily it was just one station away from where I was supposed to be. After some nervous waiting, she walked towards me, smiling. We hugged, and her happiness to see me was evident. After the long trip, we decided to grab some food and drinks, taking a bus into the city. We found a cozy hipster burger place, although we had a bit of trouble with the small tables (even managed to spill a drink!). But we laughed it off, engaging in somewhat shy conversation. The food was delicious, and we decided to ease our nerves with a drink before heading back to the hotel. Booking the hotel was a first for me, and although I thought I had already paid, it turned out to be just a booking reservation. Both of us were nervous as heck, but we made our way to the hotel room, where we settled in. As we sat on the bed, nervous chatter filled the air, with hints that we both desired more. I asked if she wanted me, despite my awkwardness, and she said yes. After a bit of awkwardness, I took the initiative and kissed her, my hand finding its way to her. She enjoyed it, and it felt just right, being with the right person. It still felt surreal. We tried things we hadn't imagined doing before, encountering a minor hiccup along the way. Nevertheless, it was an amazing night. After our intimate time the first day, we prepared ourselves for the Christmas market, which turned out to be bustling yet stunning. Amidst the numerous stalls, we walked hand in hand, enjoying drinks and food, reminiscing about our time at the hotel. She graciously showed me around the market, making the crowded atmosphere feel welcoming. Late into the night, we eventually returned to the hotel, exploring more possibilities before both of us drifted into a peaceful sleep.
---- second day ---- The second day began with us waking up, chatting about the night before, and feeling spirited once more. After indulging ourselves for a while, we decided it was time to grab breakfast from the hotel. We discussed how the night went, what could be improved, and made plans for the day. Despite our desire to stay in bed longer, we ventured outside and headed to the harbor, navigating a series of bus and train rides—a rather interesting experience with the traffic, to say the least. The weather was chilly, and upon arriving at the station, we stumbled upon a delightful little bakery where I bought some French bread for us. Although we mostly conversed in English, she adored it when I spoke Dutch, which was heartwarming. We strolled hand in hand near the river, admiring boats that resembled buses and a beautiful sailboat on display. There were charming little stores selling food and tourist gifts along the way. Our quest for a boat trip led us to eventually find one. We embarked on the whole trip, braving the cold while sitting both inside and atop the boat, where we shared a kiss. It was a lovely experience being with her, even in the cold, and witnessing a Polish man, completely hammered but thankfully alright, leaving the boat. Hand in hand, we explored the storefronts and stumbled upon a souvenir shop, purchasing a little something for home and a tiny flask of liquor for both of us. We ventured further inland to explore the nightlife, encountering various stores and restaurants with what I found to be amusing German names. She chuckled as I attempted to pronounce them as accurately as possible, which added a fun touch. While looking for a warm meal, she spotted an adult Christmas market! We decided to enter, braving the bustling crowd and enjoying the innuendos, like bread shaped like "ducks" and a variety of enticing food stands. We stumbled upon a stand offering homemade German bread pizza (I believe it's Flammkuchen?) and ordered two—it resembled pizza but with ham and delicious sausage, and it was incredibly tasty. We enjoyed it with the flask of liquor in a quieter spot. Later, after a bit of traffic and a Lidl adventure where we purchased drinks and snacks, we walked back to the hotel. Once in the room, we resumed our talks and found ourselves back under the sheets, this time feeling less nervous and more at ease, being ourselves just like the first time when we felt safe and comfortable. We only did what we both wanted. After indulging in drinks, snacks, and a movie in the background, we finally fell asleep.
--- third day --- On the third day, we lingered in bed until it was time for breakfast. Even then, we couldn't resist holding each other close, locking eyes with an unspoken desire to prolong our time together. Neither of us wanted this magical encounter to end—we were both overjoyed to have met each other. We stayed until the very last moment, cherishing every second, before eventually leaving for a leisurely walk through the city, capturing every moment with pictures. Our conversations spanned everything, expressing how ecstatic we were to have met and our reluctance to part ways. We both agreed it was the best weekend we could have hoped for and vowed to do it again. After indulging in some delicious pomme fries with Joppiesaus (a new treat for both of us), we made our way to the station, grabbing a drink for the journey ahead. However, fate had its own plans as the train arrived half an hour late, extending our time together—a silver lining that made saying goodbye a little less daunting. When the train finally arrived, we shared a tender kiss and bid each other farewell, promising to meet again soon. As I boarded the train, seven hours stretched before me, but my thoughts were consumed by her, and we kept texting, reliving the moments we shared. Reflecting on the entire weekend, we both felt content, with smiles on our faces. It was truly the best weekend I'd experienced so far, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you so much for this incredible thread and experience. And to anyone reading, don't lose hope, and may your holidays be filled with joy. If anyone wants to DM and ask anything, even if it's NSFW, we're open to those conversations. Don't give up!
