Greetings, Reddit!

I’m a white 22M attending university in Boston, and I’m here to get a very pesky monkey off my back.

First, a bit about me.

Looks-wise, I’m 6’2” with brown hair, brown eyes, and broad shoulders. I wouldn’t say I’m unattractive — appearance is not what’s held me back in dating thus far.

In terms of personality, I’m a pretty intellectual person. I love to read and I’m in the middle of a challenging graduate degree in a STEM subject. While many intellectual types tend to specialize, I’m interested in just about everything and will happily converse about any topic from technology to theology and everything in between. I should also clarify that I’m not one of those weird, socially awkward nerds - I’m actually personable enough that I used to be one of the top salesmen at the company where I worked! I’m also a longtime athlete who enjoys a wide variety of sports. My favorites are hockey, basketball, and football.

Why, then, am I here? The short answer is that there’s a big difference between having social intelligence and being outgoing. I’ve always had different interests and a vastly different worldview than my peers, so I had a hard time making friends as a kid and grew apart from my classmates. I’ve ended up as a very solitary person, so between that tendency and my immense workload in school, I haven’t gone out much and haven’t met many women. That’s what I’m here to try and change.

What am I looking for? In short, I want to get the monkey off my back and enjoy some of that sweet intimacy that has eluded me for so long. I’m not going to be super picky about who it’s with. My two red lines are that you’re DDF and that you aren’t cheating on your partner with me. Age doesn’t matter as long as you’re over 18 - in fact, I kind of like the idea of losing it to a more mature lady. While I would prefer someone white, Hispanic, or Asian, I’m open to any race.
