Going back and forth on the possibility of this, but I have a 35th anniversary edition 2004 Subaru Legacy. She's in poor shape, but it's the first car that I owned after taking a 10 year break from owning a car. Weird, I know.
Anyway, it in bad shape and I am looking at getting a new car.. but I also love this car.. so I was going to consider the option of having it rebuilt.
Was wondering if anyone on here is or knows of a decent Subaru mechanic in the area where I could get an estimate on a complete rebuild.
The motor and transmission show age and definitely need work, but still strong. Power steering needs work. New exhaust needed. AC compressor took a crap. The alignment and bearings are not so good.. so I was just going to see about a cost of having the drive train redone from the ground up. Nothing cosmetic.
Have a feeling that it's not really worth having rebuilt, but I'd like to consider the option.
