I've been in VA for about a year now. My boyfriend is stationed 30 minutes from DC. Been to Occoquan which is lovely. We've been to DC bar hopping, going to museums, did ghost tours, etc. Went to Alexandria to eat and drink and walk around. Went to Richmond for a few days to drink (as you can tell we're big drinkers) and we also went to Baltimore and went to the aquarium.
I feel like we hit the major stuff but I feel like there's more. I'm currently planning a day trip for my boyfriend's birthday. We're going to Dinosaur Land for the memes, then Skyline Caverns, a winery place, and a restaurant.
I want to find more things to do and places to go here in VA. At this point I'm rather sick of drinking. Any suggestions would be helpful!
Go to Loudoun County and spend the weekend hitting wineries/breweries. Don’t miss Middleburg. Fall is the best time bc of the foliage but it’s beautiful year round! On clear days Dirt Farm Brewery/Bluemont Vineyards have amazing views towards DC.
