Creeks, spillways, brooks, tributaries, etc to go muck around in

We live in SWFL the creeks suck lol
We are looking for info on good spots to find creeks we can find salamanders, newts, cool rocks, etc.
We know not to touch the critters, we just want to see them and the kids like to look them up in their reference books.
