I'll be passing through your state in late-September, coming from the North Carolina and heading to DC. I don't know much about Virginia, but I think everywhere has its special places and I'd love to explore your backyard while I'm there. I've got some time, so I can make detours. If you know a yummy roadside restaurant, weird roadside attraction, blooming gardens, favorite festival/rodeo, cool market, interesting museum, beautiful dispersed/primitive camp area, or other random thing I shouldn't leave your state without experiencing, please share!
I enjoy connecting with people and discovering new places. Of particular interest to me are: pottery/ceramics studios, folk art, fine arts, or craftsmanship, historical stuff, weird passion projects, and beautiful, safe spots to car camp in solitude. I'll probably avoid the big cities unless there's an amazing museum or neighborhood to check out.
Thanks!
