Yes, this ^{^} We like cruises bc we like to meet people on our vacations (which is difficult for us bc we’re kind of shy). But we want to meet people with whom we are similar and with whom there is the potential for friendship, even if just a cruise friendship. It’s one thing having to deal with the condescension and judgement of our current friends who have become parents (ie we were friends with them before they had kids), it’s something else to have to deal with someone you’ve never met complaining (eg “you don’t even KNOW tired—try having a kid”), being condescending (eg “you’ll want them when you get older”), being judgemental (eg “I just think it’s selfish only caring about doing things that you want to do” or “oh I don’t really drink that much anymore or get up late anymore since I’ve had a kid”), and being narcissistic (eg “OMG you should see how well my Stacey swims, I know she’s only 5, but she’s going to be in the Olympics for sure”) 🤦‍♂️

Um, you can have a family without kids—I have parents, my gf has parents, we both have siblings and nieces and nephews, and of course we have our FUR baby 🥰 And having kids, you still can “end up constantly going to someone else’s house for the holidays”. Actually, it all but guarantees it—you really think if your son or daughter has a family of four, they’re going to pack up their zoo to go to YOUR place? For what reason?? We rarely saw my parents’ parents growing up—how’s that for being lonely lol
