Favorite Prestige / New Jazz LPs
Post Body

A focus of mine this year has been getting into the Prestige / New Jazz labels because at the end of last year I realized that I didn't have really anything on the label. So far I have managed to pick up about 30. I am really interested to see what everyone's favorites on the label are. Below is the extent of what I have on the label. I know I am severely lacking Miles Davis and that is on the list.

Benny Golson- Groovin' With Golson

Art Taylor- Hard Cookin' (reissue of Taylor's Wailers and Taylor's Tenors)

Dorothy Ashby- In A Minor Groove

Eric Dolphy- Outward Bound, Out There, Caribe

Eric Kloss- Introducing

Thad Jones- Olio

George Braith- Laughing Soul

Gigi Gryce- The Rat Race Blues (highly recommended)

Hank Mobley- Mobley's 2nd Message

Herbie Mann- Flute Flight

Jackie McLean- A Long Drink of the Blues

Ray Draper Quintet- Featuring John Coltrane (love this one my 80s repress is highly recommended)

Elmo Hope Sextet- Informal Jazz

Johnny Hammond Smith- Gettin' The Message

Lem Winchester- Another Opus, With Feeling

Oliver Nelson- Nocture, Screamin' The Blues, Straight Ahead

Ray Bryant- Alone With The Blues

Roland Kirk- Kirk's Work

Roy Haynes- Cracklin', We Three

Sonny Rollins- Saxaphone Colossus

Tadd Dameron- Fontainebleau, Mating Call

Tommy Flanagan Trio- Overseas (my jazz classics reissue with alternate cover and Van Gelder stamps is highly recommended)

Doug Watkins- Soulnik

So based on what I have what are the others in the label's catalog that you can't live without and spin on the daily. Prestige / New Jazz is such a large label with so many reissues that it can seem overwhelming sometimes in the sense that you feel like you could be overlooking a gem in the catalog. So fellow r/Vinyl_Jazz subscribers what are your recommendations?
