Hello there, fellow CCD enthusiasts.
Having used a Canon S90 and a Nikon P5100, both sporting a 1/1.7" sensor, made me wonder how big of a difference is it between this and the classic 1/2.3"? The market around me has gone crazy, prices are too high to justify a camera that had a premium sensor back then, and I was looking for buying some `new` gear... Regardless, I was a bit skeptical of the usability of 1/2.3 sensor cameras, especially after coming from these more-than-decade-old luxurious cameras. In the same time, I see many people in this community focusing on this kind of premium cameras as well, while the budget-oriented (for the time) 1/2.3" are few.
Does sensor size make that big of a difference? How would you feel about buying 1/2.3, compared to 1/1.7?
Thanks!
