Question about Engagement rings & Vietnamese culture

Xin chao everyone!! I have been dating a wonderful Vietnamese woman & we plan on getting married. I am Black & Mexican and although I have learned a lot about her culture, I don't want to do something against the culture. This is why I am here to ask you all. I have a question regarding engagement rings.

I have bought her a diamond ring engagement ring already but I wanted to know if any of you know how a Vietnamese woman might feel about a Moissanite ring. These are very similar to diamonds but they cost significantly less. I want to know if any of you are aware if it would be inappropriate culturally to give her a moissanite ring? We are trying to save money. I know she would be happy probably with whatever I give her but still, I could give her more with Moissanite than I could with a diamond. I want to know if it would be inappropriate to do so according to Vietnamese culture?

I would ask her friends but all her friends are of different nationalities. She has some Vietnamese friends, but I have never met them nor do I know how to contact them. I have thought about asking her family/siblings, but they are all out of town/back in Viet Nam. What do you all think? I just want to make sure I do right by my girlfriend =)

I have enclosed a link here to a 30 second YouTube video showing the difference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbNt_9sZ9zE

Diamond is a 10 on the Mohs hardness scale & Moissanite is 9.25. Only diamonds can scratch other diamonds. Moissanite allows more light to shine thru them & they are a rare mineral as well.

**To the mods, I have checked the rules & don't believe that this post infringes on them. If it does, I sincerely apologize & I will remove it**

Thank you in advance! I look forward to your opinions and advice. =)
