Hello! I am a Vietnamese man that was born in America. I am currently traveling vietnam and it’s my first time here. I was just curious about the topic of sex in vietnam. From rumors or like what I heard from other older relatives back in America, Vietnam was pretty sexually repressed and sex was pretty taboo but the younger generation has been getting more open about talking about sex. In America sex isn’t something you talk about to everyone, but it is normal to talk about it was friends and such so I was just wondering how America compares to Vietnam for this.

Hookup culture is also pretty popular in America for bars and clubs. Is it the same way in Vietnam? I’m not going to any clubs since I’m younger but I am curious.

Sorry if these are dumb questions lol. I just don’t know a lot about Vietnamese society and I would like to know more.

side note: also noticed that a lot of people ask me if I’m rich or about my parents job in america. In my experience, Vietnamese people think that living in America is like heaven lol. Although I feel that quality of life is better in America, it’s not like I am rich and everyone here seems to assume that I am until I tell that my family is just middle class at america.
