Apple Workflow - Switching to a MacBook only?

Post Body

My workflow is currently all over the place. I’ve got an iMac Pro that used to be an absolute monster of a computer (18 cores, 128Gb ram) but it’s chugging in comparison to my MacBook Pro (m2 pro, 16Gb)

I love having the bigger screen, but it seems stupid to hang on to an aging machine just for the odd instance where I need a vast quantity of ram or more cpu cores.

Would I be made to ditch the static desktop machine entirely and just stick with a MacBook? I’d probably trade both in to get something with 32Gb/64gb ram (probably an M1 Max for the extra media engine) and a decent 4k monitor.

I’m about to switch from Premiere to Resolve at the same time too if that makes any difference
