Recently I upgraded a few components in my PC. I went from a HD 5850 to a HD 7950, added 12gb of ram (16 total, up from 4), and got a SSD to put my OS on. My processor is an AMD 965.
Whenever I render in Sony Vegas 12, it's taking about 40 minutes to render 20 minutes of video. Under the old config, it was about 18 minutes for a 20 minute video. 40 minutes is what it would take when using processor only, so I'm not sure if the 7950 isn't supported or what. When I have it check my GPU it says that Open CL is available, and I've checked several times that it's enabled in the render options. I've tried rendering to both my old magnetic drive and the SSD and the speeds are the same. Previously I only had one hard drive and it was partitioned to have the OS on one side and the footage on another.
All the footage is coming in as MP4 and going out as MP4 so there's no conversion going on. Any advice?
