Hi there,
I've got a pick up truck with a demountable camper to go on top of the truck (imagine a snail with it's shell secured on to it's back, not a caravan towing situation). I want to add solar. I want to have two separate systems in the truck and camper, so that the truck and camper both have their own solar panels, controllers and batteries, but then once the camper is mounted on to the truck, I need the 2 systems to work together (I'm assuming by just connecting the leisure battery in the truck to the leisure battery in the camper). Will 2 solar controllers (eg: Smart Solar MPPT 100/50) both function together at the same time to charge the combined batteries once the batteries in both truck and camper are connected? I will be connecting the batteries together using the tow bar hitch electrics. The battery banks in the truck and camper will be different sizes, 200ah in the truck and 80ah in the camper. On the truck I will only be able to fit around 100w of solar, but on the truck I think I can fit 350w of solar. Can you envisage any problems? Will there be a problem on the battery monitor read out unit or mppt display unit once the 2 systems are connected?
Thanks.
