Hi! I'm planning a train trip. I have a ticket from Edmonton to Toronto, arriving Sept 5 at 14:29. I'm thinking of catching the VIA rail on towards Montreal at 18:02 the same day. Is that a terrible idea? I'm not sure how often or how long the VIA rail might be delayed. If it is, is there any recourse? Might they wait for the passengers on the delayed train or allow you to rebook on a later one?
The alternatives, if it is a terrible idea, is to spend the night in Toronto and go on to Montreal the next day. Or, just take Amtrak on to NYC directly. Both are difficult since I will be working remote during the day. Thanks in advance!
