Hello, I’m a junior in college right now and I’m still trying to decide if veterinary school is the right path for me. I really like veterinary medicine and Im going through college in a way that will keep applying to vet school as an option for me (3.95 GPA, 700 clinic hours, pre reqs etc..). However, first and foremost I am a conservation biologist / ecologist. I’m really into One Health/ public health / ecological research. I really like the idea of practicing medicine and I really enjoy physiology/Chem etc but most of my research interests are more ecological / population biology related. I’m having trouble figuring out if vet school is the path I want to take or if I should just apply for masters programs in ecology fields. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I also hope to work primarily with wildlife or zoo animals.
