I have a friend who is also my dogs' vet. My beagle is an obese dummy who hurts himself all the time and needs special care.

My friend always takes my calls or texts even after hours and helps me so much. Sometimes she just gives me instructions on what to do with the idiot, sometimes ( like today) she needs to see him in the clinic to prescribe meds ( this time for an open wound because somehow he managed to take his skin off his leg).

My issue is she always refuses payment for her work, she says he is a friend of hers ( we adopted him from her because he was abandoned in the hospital she was practicing in 5 years ago) and refuses to let us pay her. So everytime I just look up online how much her would be, and get her a voucher at a shop I know she likes.

However, I would like for this to stop and her to accept payment for her good work, because taking care of that idiot doggo is alot of work.
