I had my HLR informal conference call this morning at 0730. The caller was very formal. Read her script and then just repeated each issue with a question "what do you feel was the error", over and over, and then said "ok im going to go through you records and you'll hear a result in 2-3 weeks".
The biggest sticking points were:
1) I have a hip injury that was in-service and extensively documented starting in 2012. Sick call slips, doctors notes, etc etc. It goes on almost yearly until this year in my STRs. The C&P exam seemed great, we had extensive discussions about how I cant even stand sometimes and i need to be careful about how I sit and what position I sit in and how I'm in constant pain but sometimes as nerve is hit and I cant even put weight on my leg for hours or days.
The va denied it saying "issue isnt chronic". it clearly is.
2) Chronic Fatigue syndrome - The doc asked "are you tired a lot" and then moved onto the next issue. No actual exam. I have a formal civilian doctor diagnosis and this is a presumptive issue for my service location and dates.
I'm expecting a simple decision on the first issue. The 2nd one will probably require a new exam. For something like this, what are people seeing for turn around times? She said 2-3 weeks but I could tell that was pretty scripted.
