I hurt my wrist in basic training like 12 years ago now, never asked for help and of course it healed wrong. Ever since it's been a constant discomfort which seems to be getting worse. That's 10% of my current 40% disability rating.
Whenever I aggravate it too much I have shooting pain, lose grip strength and my range of motion is pretty much cut in half. I've learned to avoid too many activities that will aggravate it so the two times I've been seen for it I've been at my average discomfort level which allows me to have regular range of motion just with a slight amount of pain. When it's aggravated it's extremely painful though. I'm at a point where I may need to go through a career change but there's a lot of physical labor jobs that I'd have to rule out since this is my dominant hand. one wrong move with a screwdriver or wrench and I'm out of commission for a few days.
I'm waiting to hear back on my second C&P but I have a feeling that it's going to be the same result as the first one. I'm tempted to do some manual labor that I know will aggravate it before my next C&P so they understand how bad it can get. Shouldn't they essentially be paying attention to how your condition is on your worst days, or would that be a dishonest way to approach it?
