How to Get Urgent Treatment For Psychotic Episode/Psychosis
Post Body

TLDR: does Therapist=>Clinic=>Hospital=>Hospitalization Seem Right Course of Action?

(Please donā€™t judge, I feel lost right now and I need help) This is hard to explain, Iā€™m sorry in advance if I donā€™t make sense. With origins from problems in the Navy, I have from the past 1.5 years since leaving started to develop gradually the symptoms that my non-VA therapist says can lead to full blown Psychosis.

For the past few weeks, I have entered for the first time, a ā€œpsychotic episodeā€. Iā€™m new to this, Iā€™m already on disability for PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety, but it seems to have morphed into Psychosis and this is something I donā€™t understand.

Iā€™m about to start college on Monday for a program I spent about 2 years preparing for, and I can only miss 2 days in a semester or else I get dropped from the program.

I Lost my job last week due to a Psychotic Episode and I thought it would take a huge load off (it did) however I am still having symptoms and essentially having a type of panic attack and Iā€™m very irritated and ā€œancyā€.

Though since last week I have contacted the VA about it, best they can do is schedule an appt with a psychiatrist a month and a half from now.

Given some stranger ā€œset me offā€ today, it seems I may not be 100% ready for college work without proper intervention.

While one option is to get some type of Student accommodation, that in itself requires an medical appointment, specifically a letter from a provider describing this, and remember accommodation 50 days into a semester is not good enough.

So, here are my options: For Friday: What is 40 minutes away from me is a clinic without urgent care, but I think there is someone on duty I can talk to.

Depending on if they can help or not:

I think this Friday I will have to go to the 3 hours away VA hospital so they can help.

I am already seeing a non VA Therapist early next morning.

I think my goal is: 1. Be diagnosed properly, get treatment (possibly meds), last resort maybe get hospitalized if I can somehow leave on Sunday to prepare for class on Monday.

This seem like the right course of action? Am I missing something?

Thank you for reading! Sorry for the long post.
