Can monthly compensation be reduced/stopped if income increases?

Post Body

I'm 80% disabled through service-connected issues and have been for 10 years. I receive a monthly compensation for this through the VA. I'm also finishing school with the hopes of starting a career. Some time ago another veteran mentioned to me that their payments were stopped because they made too much income at their job*. I didn't see anything referencing this in the knowledge base so I'm checking to see if anyone is aware of this and can expand. I'm fine losing my compensation if I get a career that supports me sufficiently, I just want to know what to expect. Thanks in advance.

*As a disclaimer, I only knew this veteran in passing and have no idea whether he was telling the truth or what other circumstances might have been at play.
