Because the VA just closed Notice for Request #4. This apparently means that they've asked the contractor to offer their medical opinion 4 times, and they still haven't received it.
I was told a while ago that the contractor typically has "30 to 60 days" to present their findings to the VA, but when calling the VA to ask what "Notice for Request" means in the first place, I was told that those "30 to 60 days" pretty much reset every time a new Notice for Request is issued to the contractor-- this makes it sounds like it can go on infinitely.
So what am I missing here? Does anyone know how long the contractor REALLY has to provide their findings?
I should mention that I think I know what the delay is. The piece the VA is waiting on is the contractor's medical opinion on a claim of OSA (which was made secondary to service-connected mental health), but I had my sleep study (which resulted in a diagnosis of severe OSA) was done through my VA PCM after my C&P-- during the C&P the doctor just asked me a few questions about my sleep apnea symptoms but made no mention of referring me for a sleep study. So I asked my PCM for one later that day.
In my most recent phone call with the VA I asked if there's anything I can do, and if I should reach out to the contractor to send them the results of my sleep study. THe VA said that If I uploaded the results on the VA website (which I did months ago), then the VA would have sent that to the contractor by now. But the way he said it sounded speculative...
Is there anything I can do on my end aside from just wait??
