I attempted to file back in 2022 for degenerative disc disease and ptsd. I was denied for degenerative disc disease because the the VA acknowledged that they diagnosed me with it, but service connection could not be established. The ptsd was denied because although they recognize that I was deployed, and that is normally sufficient as a nexus event, I was not formally diagnosed. This confused me as I had recieved treatment AT THE VA for ptsd...
Anyway, fast forward to last month. I had an itch to try my hand again. Other service connected things were causing havoc on my work life. I didn't know where to begin. I hired a lawyer. Good or bad opinions aside, so far they have been Rockstar and I wouldn't have even known where to begin without them.
After the lawyers recieved my records from the VA they scheduled a call to go over my claims. We worked up the ptsd and back supplementals. Then he turned to other things I've been treated for at the VA. Things I didn't even know were claims. Like I said, I wouldn't have even known where to begin.
I logged today and saw "exam request canceled" and thought I had messed something up. After a bit of reddit-fu I found out this just means they're closing it to send it out for c&p.
This is were I'm extremely confused. My wife is also going through the claim process...and it took her 5 months to recieve just the c&p exam request.
I'm completely unsure if this is a good thing, or the fast lane to being denied. I'd say maybe the VA is just moving fast right now, but I honestly can't type it without laughing. Has anyone else had a similar experience that can kind of share what happened with their...or provide some clarity here to maybe shed light? I'm skeptical of any indication of positivity when it involves the VA
