Hi Everyone. Got out of the Marines in 2012. Always felt guilty / was ignorant about the compensation process / didn't report most injuries etc while I was in because it was frowned up and felt (at the time) that part of being a respected Marine and leader was being tough just accepting the pain.
Over time, and after catching up with several Marine buddies, I changed my viewpoint. I filed for several items back in August. I attended the appointments they scheduled over the last several months. I check the VA app and/or the website at least once a day.
On Monday, the app updated to show me at 80%, and I received a payment (marked "Retroactive" in the payments section of the app). However, on the website, it still shows as "3 - Evidence gathering, review, and decision".
Are they still evaluating but determined me at as at least 80%? Or is the status just not updated properly since I haven't received the letter in the mail? (The letter does show in the app though).
I appreciate any help / insight in advance, Semper Fi!
