Error correction

Been checking my HLR weekly but the update stays on "correcting an error". This has been going on for 6 months after I submitted the review request. Notification letter stated they found something in my Navy PHR that helps my case. I've called but all I am told is an error is being fixed. How is it that they find this error but have taken this long to change it? How long has anyone else waited after seeing this? I know I'll get the backpack to January but I'm pretty curious
