See title.

I am separating near the end of the month (5 days before closing) I haven’t filed a BDD and intend to get the process started soon (waiting on my DD214).

The VA website says something to the effect of “as long as your effective date is before closing”.

I’m just trying to figure out if I should pay the funding fee upfront under the assumption that I will receive >10% disability rating.

Feel free to roast, obviously new to this process

Comments

Pretty sure you shouldn’t and don’t need to wait for your DD214 file.

I don’t have a answer for your funding fee question and recommend calling the VA for answers that may affect your pockets and not Reddit.
