Alright, not terribly interested in the politics of this, but I found myself unable to explain how it would work and why it probably won't happen. I could use someone who's more civics minded then me on this:
The new Sec Def. has, apparently, on multiple occasions stated that he doesn't believe that even half the people recieving benefits deserve them, that he would like to see PTSD removed as a qualifier for disability and on and on. Largely, my understanding, is that he would like to see the VA transferred into a private organization and in theory the insurance structure would deny all but the "deserving".
Me and buddy into a "spirited argument" about how they'd do that and he's convinced President Elect Trump could just write an executive order that says "The VA is now a Corporations" and that would be that. I said it has to go through both houses and then get signed and thusly was unlikely. Thoughts?
