We're back. Kind of. Clearing out the cobwebs. Much stuff broken. Much stuff coming. More details to come. So much spam.

I hope you have found peace, brother.
Post Body

Former US Marine and federal police officer, Aaron Winscher lost his battle with the personal demons that plague so many of us a week ago today. We've lost another great cop, not to mention a great friend.

There is a celebration of life today, and the burial will be tomorrow. If you know Aaron, PM me for details.

22 active duty and/or veterans succumb to suicide each day. I'd hate even more to see this number if it included non-veteran police/fire/ems suicides. We've made a career out of protecting others, often to our own detriment. Remember, if you don't take care of yourself, you can't help others effectively. Please watch out for each other and drop a line to someone you served with and see how they are doing. It can make a hell of a difference. I know sometimes when my demons come out to play with my mind and emotions, a simple text from an old buddy can snap me out of it. I hope it works for others as well.

Watch out for your brothers and sisters of the badges (and dispatch too, damn it). Above all stay safe and take care of yourself. Please, never ever be too proud to someone that you are not OK. There really are a fuckton of people who care.
