I was in the Army for 9 years, I crewed Chinooks for most of my career and it was a lot of fun. I don’t think there is much that can replace the feeling of shooting a 240 out of a helicopter while flying low and fast. I was always motivated to keep up my physical fitness because of my job. Now that I’ve been out for about 5 years I am having a hard time staying fit because I don’t feel like there is a purpose to it. I’d like to find something I can compete in that is sort of unconventional and hard to get into. I want to push myself and see what I can do. I really want to have some kind of end goal and also build some camaraderie . I like mountain biking, weight lifting and swimming and boating . Does anyone know of any organizations, challenges/competitions I may could work towards competing in? I live in Alabama .
