I woke up less than 20 minutes from a dream I had where I was in the motorpool with my section just shooting the shit.

I remember looking the same as I do now in the dream, longer hair and all, and I remember being asked by one of my troops how it is being a civilian, and replying,

“I miss the people and memories, but not the circus”.

I been out of the Army for nearly two years now (I served 4 1/2 years active duty), and I keep having dreams similar to this a couple of times throughout the month, and most times that I do, I feel a strong sense of melancholy whenever I wake up.

Anyone else experience something this? When did it stop?
