My problem is, I live in Florida and the only thing that helps my pain is Tramadol. I moved here last year and it took 6 months to get a very small prescription through the VA, although it's in my records that I use it for pain. My PCM said he couldn't prescribe it, and the pain management doc said he couldn't prescribe it, so my Ortho prescribed it but with great apprehension.
I understand the reasoning behind it with the opioid crisis, but I have never taken it every day. Injections have not helped but a few days. Physical therapy, etc does not help. The last few states I've lived in were easy to get a prescription.
Can I go out of state to get VA healthcare? Or would it be easier to see a PCM using Tricare? Are non-VA doctors in FL able to prescribe Tramadol without the runaround? I need help.
