Good morning everyone. As seen in the title I was HSST’d meaning the marine corps is telling I have to be a drill instructor or recruiter and tbh I would rather be homeless than either. So I need to start looking for potential work on the outside. I’m a 6842 METOC forecaster (glorified weatherman). I hear the job potential on the outside is garbage for my job. I was wondering what kind of work I’d be qualified for or what I should start studying for such as (degrees, or certifications). At EAS I’ll have 9 years experience an associates degree in general studies and a soon to expire top secret clearance after EAS. I worked in Intel sections and air traffic control sections through my career. One of my bestfriends does IT on top secret gear while in the marine corps and makes $$ without a degree now. If that was an option how would I even start that process to get those certifications for IT.. kinda lost marine corps is all I’ve known since I was 17.
