Hello. I am about to graduate technician school and recently got hired as a surgery tech. I struggle with blood draws a bit. I know we should be able to draw blood without the need of shaving but I think to start out its not a bad idea, especially because a lot of times blood draws aren't based on being able to see the vein but knowing where it anatomically should be. All patients going under surgery have to have pre-surgical bloodwork. Just so I can get confident in doing blood draws, do you think it would be bad idea to explain this to my boss and also get clients approval to shave an area for blood draws?
