When is the ideal time to proceed to Champion difficulty for a new player?

Post Body

I have played 50 hours total so far, and has managed to level one character to 35.

I am still unfamiliar with the book locations, and occasionally experience team wipes at boss fights maps (such as Skittergate) on Veteran difficulty.

From my understanding Veteran difficulty teaches bad habits so I should proceed to Champion as soon as it is practical for me to do so. However, I am unsure as to when that would be. Is there a checklist of things/skills that I would need before attempting Champion difficulty?
