Opening the 2 Crypts/Rooms on final fight of Tower of Treachery

I've a bit confused after comparing various wikis. I just wish to unlock the two crypts/rooms on the final fight of Tower of Treachery. Do I enter 3421 on the levers, or have to collect 10 skulls, or talk the gargoyle lustria guardian. One of these things - or all of these things?

I tried entering 3421 on the levers but nothing seemed to happen, and it prompted me to enter two more pulls. Upon reaching the final fight the crypts were still closed.

Some clarification would be great. Thanks again.

You can collect 10 skulls OR use the code 3421 and activete the code in the hidden room (will play a special sound) the hidden room is on the lowest floor of the code room to the right side
