Is this a problem? Is this worm castings?
Post Body

My medium is almost completely coco coir. The top layer looks as it always has, nice and dark. I always hear that the worm castings are ‘black gold’ and I see this clearly different stuff on the bottom of my bin. It’s reddish, and has a sort of sour smell to it. Is it bad? Is it the worm castings? The bin smells good until you break into that layer.
