Post Body

First I am sorry for posting here, but I may be interested in starting vermiculture after seeing this community. Sorry again, I didn't read the rules and pinned posts if there were any. I'll do so right after I post this then edit the post accordingly.

I just started composting and started by using a pile method and switched to using a storage bin. I added 1/3 greens, 1/3 browns, and 1/3 off my compost pile that was only a month old.

How soon should I expect the it to start composting? Do I need to stir the bin daily, weekly, monthly?

Now to the vermiculture.

After the compost has... Well composted... Can I just add worms from garden? Can I throw worms in right now? What is the easiest method of vermiculture? I live in an area that can fluctuate from freezing to 90-100° F (about 35° C). Can I just leave the bin outside all year or do I need to bring it into the garage during winter? I have a deck where I currently have the compost bin tucked under. Will that be okay for vermiculture?
