VERIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

We want users to be confident that the people posting here are actually from Montana. For that reason, we're offering 3 different ways to verify.

Option 1: ID. Montanans only. Submit a photo of your (unexpired) state, tribal, or student photo ID with the name of the subreddit, date, and your reddit username written on a crumpled piece of paper.

Option 2: Landmark Pose. Montanans Only. Contact the moderator via Modmail with the subject "Verification Pose". The moderator will give you a "pose" that you should make in front of a recognizable, "non-touristy" landmark in the state. Submit that image along with the name of the landmark.

Option 3: Temporary verification. Tourists only. Submit a photo of yourself holding up proof that you will be in Montana, with the subreddit name, date, and your username written on it. This could include a hotel reservation, flight reservation, camping reservation, etc. This verification lasts one month.

For each of these options, any personal information can be blacked out and a black bar or blur can be drawn across the eyes.

These images will not be saved or shared, and can be deleted after verification has been completed.
