Will a forced fridge dormancy straight from room temperature and full light be too hard on a VFT?

Post Body

I used to only grow my VFTs outside so dormancy was never a huge concern. This year I have them indoors under grow lights. When November arrives, should I just go from light 15 hours a day and 72 degrees F straight to fridge dormancy one day or will that be too hard on the plant? Should I slowly reduce light and then put it in the fridge? Recommendations for a schedule on shortening the photoperiod would be highly appreciated! Basically, if I should shorten, over how many weeks? How little light should I get it to before putting it in the fridge?

Same with awakening it from dormancy. Is going from the low temps back to room and 15 hours going to shock it dead?
