Ghosted after a 5+ year friendship

I literally got ghosted by a best friend of nearly 6 years around 3 years ago and still so fucking upset over it.
God. He was literally my best friend that I told everything to and got along with so well. And then he just stopped responding. And I know nothing has happened to him cause of a mutual friend but like wtf. No explanation or last message? Just gone and I’m still wondering why I can’t have the same kind of friendship again
