Backstory. 22M, live with parents and younger siblings because money/the economy/whatever.
So here's the tldr of what happened. I ask my sister to empty the dishwasher. She doesnt. She leaves. She comes back and I ask her again. She pitches a fit cause I ask her to do something. Heated discussion gets dad involved and after dishes being thrown around, he yells at us kids because of us constantly passing the buck about chores.
Heres my vent, because anytime I outburst the way my dad did (yes it was an outburst) I get immediately shut down.
I'm done. Fed up if you will. Sick of the constant stream of bullcrap that is all this.
I'm sick of my dad always using the words Fed Up while talking to us about dishes. There are other (sfw) words.
I'm sick of my dad berating us about the dishes when we all know he isn't first in line to empty/fill up the dishwasher. (We didn't even have a functioning dishwasher for like a year cause the one we had broke and he was too petty to fix it. Petty to the point I don't tell him about other things not working as intended cause I don't want to hear the 'im not paying for something just to hear grumbling about having to use it) case in point, the a.c. went out last summer and I thought he purposely killed it for some petty reason referring kids and chores (it just broke, eazyish fix)
I'm sick of my sisters bullcrap. If anyone else in the house told her (or even asked) she wouldve done it. Not happily, but it would be been done. But since if came from ME, that's a free pass to ignore anything and everything I say. (And that's not hyped up for the post, this is an actual problem that everyone's aware of)
I'm pissed off at the fact that whenever any convo about chores comes up, even small talk with coworkers, they always hit me with the 'when you get your own place, you'll be responsible for aLl the chores.' Which is true, but seeing as there's only gonna be 1 person and maybe a roomba if I can afford one in the house, the chores won't be such an ordeal. Especially the dishes.
And finally, im fed up with how often this happens. Every month, sometimes every freaking day. Maybe us kids could do better with the chores, Maybe you could lead by example instead of acting like every manager in existence, butt firmly in seat while others actually do the work.
Thanks for reading, those of you that read my sober 3am ramblings. If y'all know of any full-time office work in the Plano, TX area that pays a decent amount, lmk. I'd love to be able to financially support myself and leave all the Home Depot grade manure.
