I’m very upset right now. so i (F19) had been talking to a guy,(M24) and at first it started casual but ended up going deeper and we really had a connection. we met up and really hit it off. he asked me to be his girlfriend after about a month of talking. he lives an hour away and works a lot so we weren’t able to see each other a lot.

Then there’s my siblings. I live with my older brother (M20) and older sister (F24) and they are super protective over me. our mother passed away and our father isn’t in our life so they really try to take on a parental roll that i never asked for. Me and my sister are very close and we tell each other everything. Naturally, when me and my boyfriend first started talking, i told her about it. She told me the age gap was problematic and would tell me i needed to find someone younger. But i’m an adult. I’m not a child and i really didn’t think 5 years is a big age gap. she ended up telling my brother, who is a bit of a hothead, and he got really angry. my brother found my boyfriend’s Instagram account and started braiding him, telling him that he was a pedophile and to stop talking to his little sister. obviously this made me very upset. i told my boyfriend to block him and we resumed our relationship as usual. fast forward to a few weeks later, yesterday. I had planned to go spend the night at my boyfriends place an hour away this weekend. I told my sister, because I like to be open and she likes to know where I am for safety.

She really didn’t like that i was getting so serious with him and so she told my brother. He started freaking out and told me that if he came to pick me up, he would beat him up.

later in the night, my brother had a few drinks and so did I. I call my boyfriend on the phone after he had gotten off work and my brother bursts into the room yelling curse words at him trying to take my phone and yell at him.

This really upset me and obviously it upset my boyfriend as well. I text him later saying sorry and that my brother was drunk and so was i. well apparently it was too much. my boyfriend texted me saying he didn’t want to be the reason i fight with my siblings. he knew i had cried before because of things my sister had said about us. He told me he loved me so much, so i didn’t think it would be an issue, but he ignored my calls and texts, and hasn’t gotten back to me. what doesn’t help, is that i have bpd and he was my favorite person. i haven’t eaten since then or left my room, if anything, my relationship with my siblings is hurt because they got what they wanted in the end at the expense of my happiness. i just want him back.
