So first it all started when I was on deployment. Everything was going to plan. I had my whole career ahead of me. I was excited and happy. Then the LAST day of deployment. I had a seizure. They ran tests and everything came up normal except for my EEG. It was showing I was having like several mini seizures within a certain time period but I didnāt notice anything. I was awake the whole time and no one came to notify me of anything that happened. So all from that. I was medically retired. And I didnāt even get to fulfill my whole 4 years. I mean yea I get like $1.5k every month, woohoo. Thatās awesome but I missed out on a lot of opportunities I was looking forward doing. My goal was to make chief one day. I even bought a ākhakiā belt to motivate me. (I know thatās a lil much but it was my dream one day) in an odd way, I miss being up on the flight deck and feeling that adrenaline of being a badass.
Anyways, what mostly gets me is I was looking forward to eventually getting a pilots license if I wanted to at some point in time. Now I canāt all because I had one and I was diagnosed with epilepsy. It felt like my whole life was ruined like it just forced me to change all my goals and dreams.
Iām doing my best to make the best of it but itās just hard because of the things I canāt do now like the ānever going to have the opportunityā.
And I felt like I was the best at what I didā¦ but now I canāt be the best anymore.
When cars 3 came out. I 100% felt what McQueen was going through about retiring. And it hurtā¦
